On Easter Sunday, we celebrated Jesus’ Resurrection with our church family. It was a great time of worship and fellowship, and after church, we had an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Here are a couple photos from the egg hunt!
God is still blessing GRBC. We continue to have new people visit. In 2010, we moved into a larger building just off of the Glen Rose square, and are currently in the process of creating a special place for our children’s ministries, as well as adding a playground and a kitchen. The bottom line for all of the work we are putting in on the building is people. We are made to be connected to each other, so we are striving to make our building safe and inviting for families.
Our goal for 2011 is to invest in others and invite them to church. We are going to focus on introducing people to our savior. So far this year, we are learning about the reasons we believe the things we believe. It has been very interesting to go deep into the scriptures and read about things like eternity and the Holy Spirit. Very soon, we will be hosting some interesting and helpful classes on marriage and family. We will also be connecting with the Glen Rose community in several ways during the coming months. This next year promises to be an exciting one at GRBC!
The Reeves Family
On January 23, we were able to hear from Tarl and Adrienne Reeves, future church planters to London, as they shared their vision for bringing the gospel back to London. After their message, we were all treated to a delicious potluck lunch. We really enjoyed this time of fun and fellowship!
We have been pretty busy over the last few weeks here at GRBC! The following photos are just a small sample of everything that we’ve been up to!
This year for Thanksgiving, we wanted to do something for the community. We attempted to collect enough food to provide four families in Glen Rose with a traditional Thanksgiving meal, but through God’s provision, we collected enough for twelve families! These pictures show some church family members working to get all of the food sorted and prepared for delivery.
Glen Rose High School Tail Gate Party
We loved being able to show our Glen Rose pride at the tail gate party! We showed up early and cooked hot dogs for the Tiger fans to enjoy as they watched their team. The picture below is of the sign we put up to announce who we were.
Glen Rose Safe Treat
We participated in the Glen Rose Safe Treat program at the end of October. Kids and families lined up to get a candy bar or two. We enjoyed getting to see all the kids in their costumes, and were a pretty popular spot on the candy trail, as you can see from the picture below.
We have adopted our first missionary! Marc Buxton and his wife, Jessi, are missionaries who feel called to serve in the Philippines. You can learn more about them and their ministries at http://honestdeceiverministries.org.
A few weeks ago, we were able to move into our new home! This space is a great deal bigger than our old location, so we are excited about filling it up with more people! There are classrooms here, as well as a nice sanctuary space that will let us continue our usual services without being too cramped. We are loving the interior of our new home, and are looking forward to seeing it get all of the finishing touches. This new place will be such a blessing when we have events, and we can’t wait to share it with everyone! Stop by and check it out if you haven’t already! For our new address and directions on how to get here, please visit our Directions and Contact Information page.
Our book drive for a local Head Start classroom was a huge success! We were able to give a book to each child to keep, as well as a few extras to replenish the class library! In the photos below, you can see some of our members with the children and their new books! After the books were given out, Chris Kitts, our pastor, read to the children. The book drive was a great experience for all who were involved.
